GRUMMAN TBF AVENGER WITH AIRCRAFT CARRIER DIORAMA. I will build this upon paid order, kindly allow 4-6 weeks for me to build and ship. I’m a retired Navy vet who has built models for 35 years and won IPMS contests. This diorama took countless hours of craftsmanship, while wearing a professional grade magnifying visor. My models are museum quality and in fact were displayed at various military bases. The result of this labor of love is an accurate slice of naval WW2 history that you will be proud to display in your home or office. Markings are from USS ESSEX, ca 1944, the double triangle is hand-painted. Subtle weathering breathes life and interest into the scene as aviators (don’t call a Navy flyboy a “pilot”) plot their upcoming mission. Subtle details such as the plotting board, control panel in cockpit and moto-tug, sidearms in case of bailout over enemy territory, exhaust stains, deck wear and tear will amaze you and all who see this diorama.
