The jersey tag is dated to the 1995-96 season as this was likely recycled from the previous season, since Smith was a mid-season addition. Smith was only with the team during the 1996-97 50th Anniversary NBA season, where all teams wore the gold logo, as seen on this jersey.
Smith is well known for his role on Inside the NBA on TNT. He was also the starting PG for the NBA Champion Houston Rockets. He also spent parts of his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons.
