The T-Bug digital Signal Identifier is a hand-held probe used by telephone company technicians to detect digital signals on twisted pair cables and terminals.
It is used to identify and isolate digital pairs for special handling and to help technicians avoid accidentally putting these pairs out of service.
Proper use of the T-Bug can help eliminate customer complaints associated with digital circuit handling throughout the outside plant.
The T-Bug Digital Signal Identifier is an indicating device only and does not replace the usual bit error rate and other test sets used on carrier circuits, although it can be used to trouble-shooting, such as locating bridge taps on digital circuits.
    Simple to Use
    – Place the probe between the twisted pairs
    Non-Invasive
    – No metallic parts, thus working digital circuits can be identified without risk.
    Visual & Audible Signals
    – A red LED whose Brightness is proportional to the signal strength.
The Audible signal is generated by a unique heterodyne circuit with an audible representation of the digital signal.
    Differential Probe
    – This feature greatly reduces false alarms due to induced signals.
Allows the technician to distinguish which pair the signal is present on or is an adjacent pair generating the signal.
    False Readings
    - Due to noise have been practically done away with.
    Self Test
    – This function ensures the technician the unit is operating properly.
    Patented
    – The T-Bug’s functionality has been Patented.
